I compose music with the intention to tell a story, lyrically or instrumentally. The challenge lies in capturing the imagination of my audience. In working with directors I have learnt to start creating with experimentation, to be brutally honest with subject matter and not to discount any idea- at first. The greatest discoveries have come from what initially seemed like an unusual choice. The most unlikely person will always surprise you with their story. The very essence of creativity is realised in collaboration, as ideas get tried and tested on an immediate audience in the very initial stages. In this sense there are no mistakes and nothing is wasted. Music for the dance floor. Music for theatre. Music for film. Music for fun. To create is to observe the contradictions of society. Music is escapism. Creativity is born from confines. Boundaries are my tools.
